California High School Basketball - St. Anthony thwarts Bellarmine-Jefferson

(January 20, 2012: Burbank, CA 91501) The St. Anthony Saints (Long Beach, CA) basketball felled the host Bellarmine-Jefferson Guards (Burbank, CA), 69-55 in Friday's league test.

The Saints (11-9) will now prepare for their test against Verbum Dei (Los Angeles, CA). The Eagles go into the Santa Fe test with a 9-10 record. In their last test, Verbum Dei went down by Ribet Academy (Los Angeles, CA), 57-51, in a non-league test.

The Guards now own a 6-14 record. They take the field next when they host Salesian for a Santa Fe test on Wednesday, January 25. Bellarmine-Jefferson will clash with a Mustangs squad coming off a 69-67 non-league loss to Locke (Los Angeles, CA). The Mustangs record now stands at 8-14.
