Florida High School Basketball - Venice nudges Bishop Verot

(December 20, 2008: Venice, FL 34285) Venice Indians (Venice, FL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting Bishop Verot Vikings (Fort Myers, FL), 48-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Venice upgrades its record to 7-5 on the season. The Indians travel to Tampa Bay Tech (Tampa, FL) to encounter the Titans in a non-league bout on Friday, December 26. The Titans go into the bout with a record of 8-0. Tampa Bay Tech won 58-38 in their recent league bout against Newsome (Lithia, FL)

Next up, the Vikings encounter the Cypress Lake Panthers (Fort Myers, FL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 3. Bishop Verot will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record.
