California High School Basketball - Bellarmine-Jefferson edges St. Anthony

(January 19, 2012: Burbank, CA 91501) The Bellarmine-Jefferson Guards (Burbank, CA) basketball nipped the visiting St. Anthony Saints (Long Beach, CA), 64-60 in Thursday's league test.

The Guards (14-6) will now prepare for their test against St. Matthias (Downey, CA). The Victorians go into the Santa Cruz test with a 5-14 record.

The Saints now own a 10-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lynwood for a non-league test on Saturday, January 21. St. Anthony will clash with a Knights squad coming off a 53-42 league win over Gahr (Cerritos, CA). The Knights record now stands at 12-4.
