(January 31, 2012: Scottsdale, AZ 85253) Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Chaparral Firebirds (Scottsdale, AZ) and the visiting Westwood Warriors (Mesa, AZ), saw Chaparral's basketball squad hold off Westwood by a score of 53-48.

With the victory, Chaparral improves its record to 13-11 on the campaign. The Firebirds host Tolleson (Tolleson, AZ) to battle the Wolverines in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 2. The Wolverines come into the challenge with a record of 11-9. Tolleson won 71-59 in their recent league challenge against Hayden (Phoenix, AZ)

Next up, the Warriors battle the Mountain View Toros (Mesa, AZ) in a I Section III challenge, on Thursday, February 2. Westwood will attempt to improve on its 13-13 season record. The Toros come into the challenge with a 18-6 record after their 66-26 league win over Skyline (Mesa, AZ).
