(October 6, 2007: New Rochelle, NY 10804) The Iona Prep Gaels football squad scored 37 points and restricted the visiting Mt. St. Michael Academy Mountaineers to 26 in the Gaels league victory on Saturday.

The Gaels now possess a 4-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. Joseph-by-the-Sea for a Catholic AAA battle on Sunday, October 14. Iona Prep will play a Vikings squad coming off a 37-14 league win over Chaminade (Mineola, NY). The Vikings record now stands at 4-1.

Coming up next, the Mountaineers play the Xaverian Clippers (Brooklyn, NY) in a non-league battle, on Friday, October 12. Mt. St. Michael Academy will attempt to advance on its 2-3 season record. The Clippers enter the battle with a 0-5 record after their 27-6 league loss to St. Anthony's (Melville, NY).
