(January 10, 2009: Deming, WA 98244) Squalicum Storm (Bellingham, WA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Mt. Baker Mountaineers (Deming, WA), 67-40 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Squalicum upgrades its record to 6-1 on the season. The Storm host Nooksack Valley (Everson, WA) to encounter the Pioneers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 13. The Pioneers go into the bout with a record of 7-2. Nooksack Valley won 55-53 in their recent league bout against Bellingham (Bellingham, WA)
Next up, the Mountaineers encounter the Burlington-Edison Tigers (Burlington, WA) in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest bout, on Wednesday, January 14. Mt. Baker will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 60-30 league win over Lynden Christian (Lynden, WA).
