(September 2, 2011: Richwood, WV 26261) In Friday's non-league game, the Greenbrier West Cavaliers (Charmco, WV) football team smashed the host Richwood Lumberjacks (Richwood, WV), by a score of 42-6.
The Cavaliers (1-1) will now prepare for their game against Independence (Coal City, WV). The Patriots come into the Coalfield AA game with a 2-0 record. In their last game, Independence overwhelmed Sherman (Seth, WV), 48-7, in a league game.
The Lumberjacks now sport a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fayetteville for a Coalfield A game on Friday, September 9. Richwood will battle a Pirates squad coming off a 56-18 league win over Midland Trail (Hico, WV). The Pirates record now stands at 2-0.
