Scoring Summary
First Quarter Summary:
The Berkeley Bucs hosted the Tampa Prep Terps in the annual Headmaster's challenge. Both teams came out fighting and it was Tampa Prep who seem to struggle with the pressure from the Bucs early. The Bucs went into the half with a one goal lead on a goal from Eri Jacobs. The referees saw a questionable hand ball in the box and awarded the Bucs the PK. Jacobs stepped up to the spot and buried to kick into the goal. Tampa Prep looked dangerous with a few through balls to their pacey forward, but the Bucs defense responded back stronger. The was opportunity for a goal came on a shot from long range from Alex Tuch. The shot beat the diving Bucs GK, but found the woodwork and bounced back out.
Second Quarter Summary:
JD Post capitalized on a long cross from Eri Jacobs to score the Bucs second goal of the match. Eri made a run down the right wing, spotted JD Post on the far post and drove a ball across the field to Post, who volleyed the bouncing ball into the goal. Tampa prep got themselves back into the from a free kick just outside the Berkeley box. MF Tuch run to the near post unmarked and headed the ball into the Buc's goal. It didn't take long for the Bucs to respond back and regain their two goal lead. TJ Roehn beat two defenders on the left and crossed the ball low and hard inside the six-yard box. The Terp's keeper made an attempt to come out and get the ball, but spilled the ball. MF Rosati ran through and buried the close range shot home with the keeper lying on the ground. The Bucs extended their win streak to two games over the tampa prep Terps and helped lift the school to retain the Headmaster's Challenge Cup.
