(January 17, 2012: Columbus, MS 39702) Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Tupelo Golden Wave (Tupelo, MS) and the host Columbus Falcons (Columbus, MS), saw Tupelo's basketball squad overcome Columbus by a score of 49-41.

With the victory, Tupelo improves its record to 15-6 on the campaign. The Golden Wave travel to Grenada (Grenada, MS) to play the Chargers in a 6A Region 2 challenge on Friday, January 20. The Chargers come into the challenge with a record of 10-9. Grenada won 66-57 in their recent non-league challenge against Charleston (Charleston, MS)

Next up, the Falcons play the South Panola Tigers (Batesville, MS) in a 6A Region 2 challenge, on Friday, January 20. Columbus will attempt to improve on its 8-9 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 6-6 record after their 64-42 non-league loss to Horn Lake (Horn Lake, MS).
