Illinois High School Basketball - DuQuoin holds off Carterville
(February 10, 2012: Carterville, IL 62918) DuQuoin Indians (DuQuoin, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the host Carterville Lions (Carterville, IL), 44-40 in a league bout.
With the win, DuQuoin upgrades its record to 12-9 on the season. The Indians host Pinckneyville (Pinckneyville, IL) to play the Panthers in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi bout on Saturday, February 11. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 21-4. Pinckneyville won 54-52 in their recent league bout against Nashville (Nashville, IL)
Next up, the Lions play the Sparta Bulldogs (Sparta, IL) in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi bout, on Saturday, February 11. Carterville will attempt to upgrade on its 9-13 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 4-17 record after their 59-52 league loss to Anna-Jonesboro (Anna, IL).
