Texas High School Basketball - Newman Smith overwhelms Lake Highlands

(December 3, 2011: Carrollton, TX 75006) Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Newman Smith Trojans (Carrollton, TX) and the visiting Lake Highlands Wildcats (Dallas, TX), saw Newman Smith's basketball squad trounce Lake Highlands by a count of 62-34.

With the victory, Newman Smith upgrades its record to 6-5 on the campaign. The Trojans host Timber Creek (Fort Worth, TX) to play the Falcons in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 9. The Falcons come into the challenge with a record of 5-6.

Next up, the Wildcats play the Richardson Eagles (Richardson, TX) in a 5A Region II District 9 challenge, on Tuesday, December 6. Lake Highlands will attempt to upgrade on its 2-10 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 9-5 record after their 51-42 non-league win over Boyd (McKinney, TX).
