Mississippi High School Basketball - Presbyterian Christian holds off Starkville Academy

(January 28, 2012: Hattiesburg, MS 39401) Presbyterian Christian Bobcats (Hattiesburg, MS) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Starkville Academy Volunteers (Starkville, MS), 39-35 in a league bout.

With the victory, Presbyterian Christian upgrades its record to 11-13 on the campaign. The Bobcats host Parklane Academy (McComb, MS) to play the Pioneers in a MAIS AAA I District 2 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Pioneers come into the bout with a record of 8-9. Parklane Academy won 55-54 in their recent league bout against Presbyterian Christian (Hattiesburg, MS)

Next up, the Volunteers play the Jackson Prep Patriots (Jackson, MS) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 3. Starkville Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 5-15 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 26-1 record after their 74-59 non-league win over East Rankin Academy (Pelahatchie, MS).
