(December 28, 2011: Saltillo, TX 75478) In Wednesday's non-league challenge, the host Saltillo Lions basketball squad scored a close 59-55 victory over the Edgewood Bulldogs.

With the victory, Saltillo improves its record to 16-0 on the campaign. The Lions host Sulphur Bluff (Sulphur Bluff, TX) to battle the Bears in a 1A-2 Region III District 21 challenge on Friday, December 30. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 8-8. Sulphur Bluff lost 49-44 in their recent non-league challenge against Miller Grove (Cumby, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs battle the Lipan Indians (Lipan, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 29. Edgewood will attempt to improve on its 14-5 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 18-1 record after their 52-50 non-league loss to Tatum (Tatum, TX).
