(December 28, 2011: Lytle, TX 78052) The La Vernia Bears (La Vernia, TX) basketball felled the host Lytle Pirates (Lytle, TX), 37-26 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Bears (9-10) will now prepare for their test against Falls City (Falls City, TX). The Beavers go into the non-league test with a 10-1 record. In their last test, Falls City defeated Nixon-Smiley (Nixon, TX), 60-43, in a non-league test.

The Pirates now own a 8-9 record. They take the field next when they host Pleasanton for a non-league test on Friday, December 30. Lytle will clash with a Eagles squad coming off a 48-31 non-league win over Pearsall (Pearsall, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 4-17.
