(January 3, 2012: Hamshire, TX 77622) In Tuesday's non-league challenge, the host Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns basketball squad scored a close 68-61 victory over the Evadale Rebels.

With the victory, Hamshire-Fannett improves its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Longhorns host West Orange-Stark (Orange, TX) to battle the Mustangs in a 3A Region III District 21 challenge on Friday, January 6. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 1-3.

Next up, the Rebels battle the Big Sandy Wildcats (Dallardsville, TX) in a 1A-1 Region IV District 25 challenge, on Friday, January 6. Evadale will attempt to improve on its 14-7 season record.
