Florida High School Basketball - Wharton prevails Leto

(December 20, 2008: Tampa, FL 33647) Wharton Wildcats (Tampa, FL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Leto Falcons (Tampa, FL), 65-53 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Wharton upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Freedom (Tampa, FL) to encounter the Patriots in a 5A District 8 bout on Wednesday, January 7. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 2-6. Freedom lost 56-46 in their recent non-league bout against East Lake (Tarpon Springs, FL)

Next up, the Falcons encounter the Spoto Spartans (Riverview, FL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 22. Leto will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 0-8 record after their 65-36 non-league loss to Pinellas Park (Largo, FL).
