Friday 9/11/09 – Nick & Karl
Nike started gameday off right, by hooking-up the Warriors with a Nike style pre-game meal in the cafeteria. Then it was out to the tour bus where the guys got a surprise video pep-talk from ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit! Coach Minton was then awarded an official Nike 5 Days 2 Friday game ball, along with a custom Wayne Warrior Nike field banner. The seniors then jumped into NIKE ID design booth, and created a custom pair of coach's shoes for Coach Minton, with the teams 2009 slogan "Finish the Journey".
The time had then come for the Wayne Warriors to take on the Glenville Tarblooders. It was a hard-fought game. Wayne was up early, but the Warriors just were unable to hold off the Tarblooders, as Glenville came away with the victory. It was a bittersweet ending to a great week, but this Wayne football team has a ton of potential, and we look forward to following them throughout the rest of the season. We will see everyone next week in Pittsburgh at Central Catholic as the 5 Days 2 Friday Road Tour continues on!

Thursday 9/10/09 – Nick & Karl
It's the day before the big game, and the Wayne Warriors already have their game faces on. Nike has really been showing some incredible support all week!! Everyday at practice, the field has been covered in Nike Football signs, and the team seems to really be enjoying hanging out on the tour bus. After practice, when the guys came into the lockerroom, it was pandemonium because Nike surprised the Warriors with custom Wayne Nike fitted shirts. I think the guys are ready for battle. Friday is almost here!!

Wednesday 9/9/09 – Nick & Karl
We caught up with our friends from Nike outside the Wayne cafeteria. They were holding a NIKE ID design competition with the student body, and who ever designs the best shoe, will get their shoe sent to them in the mail. There is already some tough competition, because we saw some killer shoe designs! Then out at practice, we caught up with Wayne's star quarterback, Braxton Miller. What an impressive guy, on and off the field! He filled us in on this weeks game plan as the Warriors prepare to take on the Glenville Tarblooders on Friday.

Tuesday 9/8/09 – Nick & Karl
We are excited to be kicking off this year's Nike 5 Days 2 Friday Road Tour in Ohio!! It's the birthplace of football! We could not have chosen a better state to start the 2009 tour! The weather was great when we arrived at Wayne High School in Huber Heights on Tuesday. We were amazed when we saw team Nike pull up to the school in a giant 5 Days 2 Friday tour bus, decked out in Wayne Warrior gear. I mean this bus has it all, including a Nike ID design booth, leather couches, a big screen TV, and a Playstation 3 with Madden 2010, and it's all for the Wayne Warriors! We look forward to a great first week!

Saturday 9/19/09 – Nick & Karl
The weather today was perfect. Not a cloud in the sky. We arrived at Gesling Stadium on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University and found our friends from Nike, who were handing out custom Viking t-shirts and posters to the fans. In the Central Catholic locker room, it was all business as they mentally prepared for the game. We knew this one was going to be a battle!!

It was a tough first half for the Vikings, as they were only able to put up one score before halftime. In the third quarter though, Central Catholic got back into the game with two scores, making it a nine point ballgame, but it would just not be enough, as the Vikings suffered their first loss of the season to Mt. Lebanon. We hated to see the game end like this, but we did have an incredible week here in Pittsburgh at Central Catholic. Next week, we head to the west coast where we will be visiting Birmingham High School for week 3 of the Nike 5 Days 2 Friday Road Tour. See you next week!

Friday 9/18/09 – Nick & Karl
Today we had a chance to see some of the sights in Pittsburgh. Heinz Filed is amazing!! The defending super bowl champs have a beautiful stadium right on the river. Looks like a postcard!! Then we headed back to Central Catholic where team Nike was on hand with the Nike ID booth. Tomorrow at the game, the student with the best shoe design will get their custom shoes free!!! We wish we could enter to win. Those shoes are awesome!! Tomorrow is the big game against Mt. Lebanon. We can't wait!!

Thursday 9/17/09 – Nick & Karl
After practice today, team Nike pulled out all the stops and held a catered Nike style team banquet to celebrate the week, and what a week it has been! At the banquet, Nike gave the guys Nike fitted shirts that they can wear under their pads, and let the Vikings demo some of the latest Nike gear. The team was then presented a Nike Vikings field banner, along with a special highlight video from the week, and a special message from Super Bowl Champ Heinz Ward. The team captains ended the evening by designing a custom pair of shoes at the Nike ID Booth for Coach Totten. Gameday is almost here!!

Wednesday 9/16/09 – Nick & Karl
It was a beautiful day for football in the steel city. Before practice we caught up with Central Catholic's star players David Smyers, Dom Maggio, and Damion Jones-Moore. These guys are intense and are pumped about the game on Saturday. After practice our friends from Nike surprised the team with custom Nike Vikings t-shirts, along with personalized Nike bag tags. And for refreshment Nike provided some Gatorade so that the guys can stay hydrated as they prepare for this weekend.

Tuesday 9/15/09 – Nick & Karl
We knew as soon as we came through the Pittsburgh airport that we were in Steeler country! What a great football town! After we passed the life-sized statue of the great Franco Harris in the airport, we were off to Central Catholic High School. When we arrived, team Nike was already on hand showing their support for the Vikings. In the words of head coach Terry Totten, today was a "work day" for the football team. Coach Totten gave us the low-down on what to expect on Saturday, and he assured us that is was going to be a "slug-fest" as the Vikings are to take on the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils.

09.25.09 - Birmingham vs. Notre Dame (CA)
Read our Journal
Friday 9/25/09 – Nick & Karl
After such a great Nike banquet last night, the Patriots showed up at the stadium with their game faces on. Our team Nike was on hand pre-game showcasing the Nike ID booth for the Birmingham fans, along with a face painting station. The atmosphere was electric!!

D-E-F-E-N-S-E!!! In the first half it was a defensively dominated game. The Patriots hard-nosed defense held the high-powered Notre Dame offense to only 10 points after two, making it a 7-10 ballgame at the half. But in the second half, the Knights started pulling away, and ended up coming up with the win. Man, it was such a hard-fought game for Birmingham!! They gave it all on the field!! Nike was there all week, every step of the way, and I know that the Pats only got better last night, and are looking forward to league play.

Three weeks down, seven more to go, as the Nike 5 Days 2 Friday Road Tour continues on. Next week we will be back in Pittsburgh, PA. Look out Upper St. Clair!! You are next!!!!!

Thursday 9/24/09 – Nick & Karl
Nike really pulled out all the stops today by rewarding the team with an amazing pre-game dinner banquet!! Now these guys can eat!! WOW!! The surprises kept on coming when the Patriots were given custom Nike Pro-Fit shirts, and then the captains designed a special coaches shoe at the Nike ID-Booth for head coach Rose. The team captains then took the mic and held their very own Team Superlatives Awards. These awards were chosen by the team captains and ranged from Most Dedicated, to the Mr. Hollywood Award. The night was then capped off by a message from another 5 Days 2 Friday team, Skyline from Washington, followed by a video pep talk from an NFL superstar. I think the Birmingham Pats are ready for Friday!!!

Wednesday 9/23/09 – Nick & Karl
Can you say HOT? We hit record temperatures in the LA area today with a high of 104 degrees!!!! Today, the student body got the chance to experience part of the Nike 5 Days 2 Friday program by participating in the Nike ID shoe design contest. There were hundreds of hopeful students who came through the booth to customize their very own pair of Nike Dunk Highs. They had a DJ pumping out some tunes while the students waited. It was like a party!!! Some of the football players also stopped by and Vince with team Nike let them have a sneak-peek at some of Nike's upcoming products. The guys were stoked!! Game-time is only two days away!!!

Tuesday 9/22/09 – Nick & Karl
Practice was delayed today due to weather concerns, but once the Patriots hit the field, they were full speed!! We caught up with some of the star players and they filled us in on the weeks game plan. Our friends from Nike were also on hand, and they let the skill players demo some of Nike's latest gloves. The Nike hydration station was also in full swing out at practice. We are one day closer to Friday!!!

Monday 9/21/09 – Nick & Karl
I have to say it feels great to be on the west coast this week! We arrived at LAX today, and headed up the 405 to the Van Nuys area of Los Angeles. This week we are excited to be at Birmingham High School along with our friends from Nike, as the Patriots prepare to take on the nationally ranked Notre Dame Knights of Sherman Oaks. We spoke with head Coach Jim Rose about the match-up, and Vince from Nike filled us in on some of the surprises Nike has in store for the Patriots. We are in for a stellar week 3!!!

Preview – Nick & Karl
The Birmingham Patriots welcome the Notre Dame Knights into the San Fernando Valley of Lake Balboa, California to try and avenge a tough loss to the Knights last season. Although the final score was 45-27, Trajuan Briggs of the Patriots put on quite a show. Briggs rushed for 120 yards on just 16 carries, including a long of 66 yards. Trajuan who will be a Trojan come this time next year has verbally committed to the University of Southern California but for now the 5-foot-11 192-pound back should be fun to watch versus the Knights.

09.25.09 - Colerain vs. Hamilton (OH)
Read our Journal
Thursday 9/24/09 – Casey & Adam
Finally the day we have been waiting for has arrived. With the game getting both national attention from MaxPreps and Nike, it was also getting a great deal of local attention since it was being aired live on Fox Sports Ohio. As a result of the live coverage the game was pushed up to Thursday night instead of being played under the usual Friday night lights. Despite the rain coming down all day, it was a wet one but yet still rather exciting. With the Colerain Cardinals visiting Hamilton's Virgil Schwarm Stadium, we were certainly in for a treat. Check out the highlight reel to see what happened!

Earlier in the day before the big game over at Hamilton, Casey and I meet up with Nike and the Cardinals at Colerain High School. The afternoon began with the team eating a tasty catered meal that Nike surprised them with. After the meal they got to watch a special personalized video from Kirk Herbstreit, who gave them a few words of motivation for the game, as well as a signed ball for Coach Tom Bolden. The team was then hooked up with their own Nike fitted compression shirt to wear under their pads. Team Nike also had a cool Cardinals banner for the team, as well as shirts for them and a bunch of their fellow classmates to wear during the game to show their support. Coach Bolden also choose his favorite pair of shoes that the seniors designed specifically for him. After getting all this sick gear from Nike and seeing an inspirational video from Ohio native Kirk Herbstreit, the team was fired up for the game against Big Blue!

Wednesday 9/23/09 – Casey & Adam
It's the day before Colerain takes on Hamilton and we are fired up here at Maxpreps. Over at Colerain High School, Casey and I spent the afternoon catching up with a few key players as they spoke about their big game tomorrow night. With both Maxpreps and Nike at practice, the players were certainly excited about all of the recognition and exposure they've been receiving. After a great practice, the seniors were separated into four groups to design a pair of shoes for Head Coach Tom Bolden, where he will choose among the four designs which pair he wants. So after another exciting day of football with Colerain and Nike, we can't wait for tomorrow nights showdown!

Tuesday 9/22/09 – Casey & Adam
Today was our second day over at Colerain High School where we meet up with Team Nike outside of the cafeteria during lunch. They had their huge 5 Days 2 Friday Tour Bus set up with all sorts Colerain gear. Outside the van they had a Nike ID design booth set up where students could design their own personalized shoes. They also had some bean bag games taken place while others played football on the Playstation 3 that was connected to a huge flat screen TV. After lunch Head Coach Tom Bolden gave us a tour of the many awards they have won while taking us to interview his brother, Dan Bolden, who was also a Colerain student/ athlete, and is currently Colerain's athletic director. After speaking to him, it's even more obvious why we're covering such an exciting football program.

Monday 9/21/09 – Casey & Adam
The first day for Casey and I was a somewhat slow start. However, despite my late arrival to Cincinnati, Casey went out to Colerain High School to get a glimpse of the Cardinals. Meeting Coach Tom Bolden and the rest of the coaching staff, Team Nike was also there to support the Cardinals as they began to prepare for this weeks game against Hamilton Big Blue. While Casey interviewed Coach Bolden, I was working on this weeks preview and continuing my research on the two teams. After practice Casey and I finished the night by doing our On-Camera in front of the famous Paul Brown Stadium, which of course is home to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Preview – Casey & Adam
Despite having their 61 game conference winning streak come to an end last season, the Colerain Cardinals are looking to continue with their winning ways, where they have won the past 9 regular season championship titles in the Ohio Division 1 Greater Miami Conference. Coach Tom Bolden has a number of talented returning players to work with including OLB, Tyon Dixon, who has verbally committed to Louisville, as well as Quarterback, Greg Tabar, who is considering schools such as Toledo and Kent State among others. The Cardinals will be visiting Hamilton and their veteran coach, Jim Place. With a squad full of skill, size, and speed, Big Blue is hoping to defend their home and upset the Cardinals.

10.02.09 - Upper St Clair vs. Canon McMillan (PA)
Read our Journal
Friday 10/2/09 - Nick & Karl
We were hoping that the rain would stop before game time, but our request was denied because it was pouring!!! But the rain sure didn't stop the faithful Upper St. Clair fans from supporting the Panthers against their rivals the Canon-McMillan Big Macs. Before the game we hung out by the Nike tent, where the guys were handing out custom Nike t-shirts to the USC students. That tent sure did come in handy, because we were getting soaked out there on the field.

Now so far on this incredible tour, our Nike teams have been 0 for 3 in the win category, so we were really rooting for the Panthers to come out on top, and that is exactly what happened. The Panther's running backs had an amazing game, along with the defense who held the Big Macs to only 12 points at the half. In the second half, the Panthers sealed the victory over Canon-Mac 41 to 20. We were blown away at the intensity of this team, bouncing back after a tough loss last week to Central Catholic ( our week 2 team). If USC keeps playing like we saw them play tonight, the sky is the limit!! Way to go guys!!!

Next week we extremely excited to be headed to East St. Louis high school in Illinois, on of the best programs in the state!! Look out Flyers, you are next!!!

Thursday 10/01/09 – Nick & Karl
This has been a great week of football!! The weather, the hard work on the field, and Nike has been there every step of the way showing some excellent support!!! Tonight the Panthers got a special reward for their great week of practice when Nike threw them a Nike style pre-game dinner banquet. Thanks to all the moms for the great food! It was awesome! We got to talk with the guys about the week and they were exited about the big game tomorrow night. We also got introduced to USC's special pre-game desert, "Dirt", and It looks exactly like It sounds, but tastes incredible! Nike hooked-up with guys with custom Nike pro-fit shirts, along with a field banner, and game ball for Coach Render. The night was capped off by a special video featuring a pep-talk form Super Bowl Champ Heinz Ward! Now if that doesn't get you pumped up, I don't know what will! Less than 24 hours until game time!!!

Wednesday 9/30/09 – Nick & Karl
This morning we made our way to the Upper St. Clair Cafeteria where the Nike ID booth was rockin'!! This week our friends at Nike are choosing the best shoe design, and then one lucky USC Panther will get their very own custom Nike ID shoes free!! Out at practice this afternoon it was another cold and rainy day...great football weather!! As soon as practice was over, I was amazed that the guys had enough energy to sprint as fast as they could to the Nike van where Mike and Brian from Nike were handing out custom USC Nike t-shirts. Wow!! Now tomorrow is the team dinner, and then its gameday. Go Panthers!!!!

Tuesday 9/29/09 – Nick & Karl
Now this is football weather. The temperature is in the 50's there is a light rain, and the Panthers were hard at it today on the practice field. We caught up with the team captains and they filled us in on the season so far, and what USC needs to do in order to wreck-shop on the Big Macs on Friday. After practice, Mike from Nike addressed the team and let them know that Nike and MaxPreps were going to be supporting the Panthers all week. Then the guys received custom Nike locker name plates and bag tags. We wish we were suiting up on Friday!!!

Monday 9/28/09 – Nick & Karl
Man are we getting a taste of the the different seasons across this country! Today we traveled from the sunny mild weather in southern California, to the crisp fall foliage filled town of Pittsburgh for the second time this season. This afternoon we made our way to Upper St. Clair (USC) High School, where our friends from Nike were on hand with the Nike 5 Days 2 Friday Road Tour van. This week we are excited to be supporting the USC Panthers as they prepare to take a huge bite out of the Canon-McMillan Big Macs. Out at practice we caught up with head coach Jim Render, and he said the Panthers are prepping for a heated rivalry game on Friday. One day down, four more to go!!

Preview – Nick & Karl
While last week the Nike 5D2F road tour saw a player heading to USC, this week it returns to Pittsburgh, PA to follow a team also known as USC. Upper St. Clair is just outside the Steel City, where the Panthers will face the Canon-McMillon Big Macs in what should be a fairly close contest. Last time these two teams met, it was decided by a two point conversion that failed in overtime giving the Big Macs a 28-to-27 victory.

10.08.09 - Northwestern (FL) vs. Central (FL)
Read our Journal
10.08.09 – Adam & Casey
Wow, it's been a great time here in Miami! Despite the 95 degree weather, Boston and Seattle definitely don't compare during this time of the year… especially with high school football! From day 1 this week, Casey and I have been covering Miami Central and Team Nike's every move. From the Nike hydration station and brand new cleats, to the Rockets tough practices on the field, we've been impressed with each step. Finally the day we've all been waiting for has arrived and Nike still has more. To accommodate the fresh kicks and shirts each player was given, Team Nike presented the team with hot new Miami Central Jerseys!

With the game later in the evening, the Rockets had one more surprise coming to them. A pep rally! And this was easily one of the more exciting rally's I've ever attended. With a full marching band jamming away, students and teachers were pumped up. But this was only the beginning. The local radio station Power 96 was also in the building showing the Rockets some support. And then a dance group who performed would probably have been the highlight in most other pep rallies but not here. What really got the players and students amped up, was Miami's own, Iceberg. Getting the crowd on their feet and rocking to his tunes, he performed a few songs that got everyone excited!

With the country having the chance to watch the game on national television, it is clear this is one of the most anticipated games of the regular season; Miami Central vs. Miami Northwestern. Expecting such a large number of fans, the game had to be moved to FIU's stadium. It was a tough battle for both teams but there could only be one winner. We had a great time here in Miami with the Rockets community, and wish them the best of luck with the rest of their season! Check out our video to hear what happened.

10.07.09 – Adam & Casey
Its day 3 of MaxPreps and Team Nike being on the Miami Central's campus, and the Rockets community has truly gotten comfortable with us. School was out and we made our way to the locker room, while students were saying “what up”, giving us dap and showing some excitement because of our presence. In the locker room, after giving each player a pair of brand new cleats yesterday, Team Nike had another surprise lined up today. With each player's number on the sleeve, the 5D2F logo on the back, and Rockets team logo and slogan on the front, they were each given their own Nike Tight Pro compression shirt. Players were definitely hyped up over all the new gear they've received from Team Nike.

And after another great practice, the Rockets were still getting hooked up. Nike supplied the team with a catered dinner. After some players finished their second and even third plates of food, Nike gave Coach Lockette a 5 Days 2 Friday football, which he said will be given to the player of the game. The night ended with inspirational speeches from Centrals Head Principal Douglas Rodriguez, Alumni's, and Coach Telly Lockette. Going on the schools 50th year reunion and the football programs 45th year, the Rockets haven't seen one state championship title yet. After hearing these speeches tonight, the players should be more motivated than ever, not only to beat Northwestern tomorrow night but also to continue on its way to their first state title.

10.06.09 – Adam & Casey
Today was another picture perfect day here in Miami, Florida. With both MaxPreps and Nike at school, the Miami Central community was definitely excited to have us around. During lunch Team Nike had the ID Booth set up where students got to design their own shoe. Knowing they have a chance to win these shoes for free, students were flying to the back of the cafeteria to make their own. After lunch Casey and I were able to get a glimpse of the many awards the athletic program has achieved over the years. Then before calling it a day, Team Nike surprised the whole football team with brand new Nike Cleats, getting the squad really amped up. We caught up with a few key players to get some feedback about the week and the game against Northwestern. Breaking in their cleats, the players had another great practice while looking fresh in their new Nike gear.

10.05.09 – Adam & Casey
So Adam and I have a new home this week, a Miami football paradise. With palm trees in the backdrop, coaches barking and players sweating, we got out first taste of the Central Rockets at Monday afternoon practice. Will Smith once said they keep it hot in Miami, and he wasn‘t joking. It was a good thing for the players and ourselves that the Nike team set up a hydration station field-side.

It wasn't hard to see from the talent on the field why these guys are 5-0 heading into this Thursday's matchup with Miami Northwestern, another squad usually stocked with more than their fair share of D-1 players. I'm really excited to see Rockets' QB Jeffrey Godfrey attempt to navigate through the NW defense Thursday, he's done it with both his arm and his feet so far this season, accounting for 4 TD's in Central's last win.

Tuesday we're going to school, as Nike will be on hand to let the kids design their own pair of Nike trainer-1's, and you never know what else might happen, it is Miami after all.

Preview – Adam & Casey
It's been a big week for Florida high school football. On the heels of St. Thomas Aquinas' shootout victory over equally-touted Byrnes of South Carolina, the current #2 in the nation, the Miami Central Rockets, will tussell with perennial power and rival Miami Northwestern in another nationally-televised showcase.

It's been the Bulls from Northwestern who have had the lionshare of success in recent years, but after falling to Washington last week and out of the Xcellent 25 national rankings, it's the Rockets who have ascended expectations and find themselves playing the bully in 2009.

Rockets QB Jeffrey Godfrey and RB Brandon Gainer have been instrumental in the Rockets' renaissance, with a big helping of defense allowing less than 6 pts/gm. The game is Thurday night at Florida International University, keep posted for 5D2F daily reports.

10.10.09 - East St Louis vs. Belleville East (IL)
Read our Journal
Saturday 10.10.09 – Nick & Karl
The perfect fall gameday in East St. Louis as the sky was clear and brisk breeze was in the air. This did not stop the Flyers who got off to a slow start but the defense never gave up as they maintained a lead from start to finish. The best tailgate party we have seen so far was right here in East St. Louis and a special thanks to those who gave us samples of some incredible ribs and a very good Chili. Make sure you check out those video's in the comments section for the uncut footage of the food fest. A great atmosphere and great people in East St. Louis. Another week has passed and we are halfway home on the 2009 Nike 5 Days 2 Friday road tour, next stop Texas! Friday 10.09.09 – Nick & Karl
Another gloomy day in East St. Louis, but spirits were high when we arrived at the school because Nike put on an awesome pre-game dinner banquet, where the Flyers got to pig-out before the big game tomorrow. Now, we got to check out some of the "eating styles" of some of the guys and we have to say that these linemen can EAT!!! WOW!! Their plates were piled so high, not sure how all the food stayed on them!! On the other hand, the skill players were a little more modest with their plates. The guys then had some interesting things to say to the Bellview East Lancers about tomorrows game for our cameras (Check out the video to see what they said!!) It sounds like the Flyers are ready for battle. It's almost gametime!!!!

Thursday 10.08.09 – Nick & Karl
It was pouring outside as we made our way over to the East side to hang out the the Flyers during lunch. There was a huge crowd around the Nike ID booth when we arrived. The Flyers were designing some pretty cool Dunk Highs. This weeks shoe design competition is for sure going to be a close one! We got to talk with some of the student body about this weeks game and the consensus is that the Flyers are going to win by at least 20 points on Saturday!! That would be an incredible end to the week!! GO FLYERS!!!!!

Wednesday 10.07.09 – Nick & Karl
The sun was shining bright when we arrived at East St. Louis H.S. today. A perfect day for practice!! We caught up with seniors Detchauz Wray and Courtney Molton who filled us in on how the season has been going so far, and what they need to do in order to come away with the "W" on Saturday against Bellview East. Team Nike was also on hand showing their support for the Flyers. I don't think the players are going to let the tour bus leave after this week is over! They are lovin' it!! Less than 72 hours to gametime!

Tuesday 10.06.09 – Nick & Karl
Our travels this week on the tour take us to the border of Missouri and Illinois. On one side of the river you have St. Louis in Missouri, and on the other you have East St. Louis in Illinois. Today we made our way over the bridge to East St. Louis High School, the home of the defending Illinois 7A state champion Flyers. We were super pumped to be able to hang this week with one of the top teams in Illinois!! Now Nike rolled up to the school today with the huge road tour bus, and once the Flyers got a chance to check it out, I thought we were going to have to sleep there because the guys just didn't want to leave!! But who can blame them, after all it is decked out with leather couches, a Nike ID booth where the guys can design custom shoes, and best of all there is a big screen TV hooked up to a Playstation 3 with the new Madden 2010!!! Out on the field, we saw some big-time hits at practice, and I think the Flyers are out for blood on Saturday afternoon! Everyone in IL better watch out for this squad!!! They are going to bring it!!!

Preview – Nick & Karl
From East St. Louis, Illinois the Nike 5 Days 2 Friday road tour continues with the Flyers who won the Illinois Class 7-A State Championship in 2008. However, to continue that success the Flyers will have to repeat without Junior RB Vincent Arterbridge. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound star tailback had surgery to repair his ACL over the summer which means the Flyers will have to rely on the smaller but Senior Halfback Courtney Molton. Molton is not projected to be the same talent as Arterbridge but certainly is making a case in 2009 as a player to watch, especially after rushing for 227 yards in the season opener versus Elder (OH) and a 192-yard performance in Week 3 versus Alton (IL).

10.16.09 - Celina vs. Prosper (TX)
Read our Journal
Friday 10/16/09 – Nick & Karl
The day got started early here in Celina as it all began with a Homecoming Parade through the center of Historic Celina. A town of just over 5,000 people and and I think 5,001 were somehow on hand. People lined the streets all in support of the Bobcats big game. The weather then cooled up and from shorts and tee shirts we could see our breath by night fall as temperatures fell into the low 40's. It was hard hitting game but the Bobcats who looked good early struggled in the second half and could not come up with the victory. The atmosphere for Texas Football is certainly a unique experience, one that I have never have witnessed but Nick has since he once played in Texas. For anyone who has not had a chance, it's definitely worth a trip to find a school with such tradition as Celina and catch game. I think the halftime festivities were longer than the actual game! Well for Week 6, that will do it. We are off to Sunny Florida and Palm Beach Gardens High School.

Thursday 10/15/09 – Nick & Karl
We started off the day at school where team Nike was holding the Nike ID shoe design contest. Now these students are determined to win!!! We spoke to several of them who had not eaten lunch all week, just so that they could design a shoe for the contest!! That is dedication! Then it was over to the field house where Nike decked-out the lockerroom with custom name plates and bag tags on all the varsity lockers. We also got to check out the Bobcats brand new Nike uniforms for this season, and they are sweet!! Tomorrow is the big game against Prosper and I know this one is going to be an all out war!! Go Bobcats!!

Wednesday 10/14/09 – Nick & Karl
Well by the end of practice today the sun finally started peeking through the clouds. Team Nike started doing what they do best by hooking up the Bobcats with some killer gear! First off, Coach Ford was awarded the official Nike 5 Days 2 Friday game ball to commemorate this amazing week. The players then headed inside to find custom Celina Nike Pro-fit shirts in their lockers. The guys were all smiles and kept chanting "9 in '09", which is the team motto this season. The Bobcats are gunning for their 9th state championship in this '09 season, and according to the team, getting revenge on Prosper will be their first big step toward that goal. 48 hours until gametime!!!!!

Tuesday 10/13/09 – Nick & Karl
Everyone we run into in Celina is talking about this Friday's big game against Prosper. This will be one of the biggest games of the year for these two teams!! Today before practice we spoke with the Bobcat's team captains, and they said they do not just want to win the game, they "want to beat the tar out of them!" These feelings come after Celina's 2008 loss to Prosper, which was the Bobcats first time to fall against the Eagles in 24 years!! So the game on Friday will mean more than just a win, it is redemption, it is for bragging rights, it will for sure be an all out war!!!!

Monday 10/12/09 – Nick & Karl
We have been looking forward to this week for some time now. TEXAS!!!!! They say everything is bigger in Texas, and that sure is true for the high school football in this state!! Today we made our way to Celina High School in Celina, Texas, which is just north of Dallas. It was an overcast rainy day and the Bobcats started things off inside their indoor facility, and eventually made it outside to the practice field. We had a the chance to talk to head coach Butch Ford, and he told us this may be the biggest game of the season on Friday! The Bobcats were runner-up in state last year, while their opponent this week, the Prosper Eagles, are defending 2008 state champs! We could not have asked for a bigger game than this!!

P.S.- The pre-game parade through town on Friday is going to rock, and we heard the Nike Road Tour van is going to make an appearance!! Look out!!!!

Preview – Nick & Karl
You couldn't have a High School football tour without stopping in Texas and this week Maxpreps Nation will get a special treat with a stop in Bobcat Country. Celina High School has won 8 state championships, more state championships than any other school in the Texas, with their latest state title in 2007. The stands are sure to filled to capacity on this night and 5 Days 2 Friday will be there every step of the way to bring you an inside look to this historic Texas football program.

10.17.09 - DeMatha vs. St John's (MD)
Read our Journal
Saturday 10/17/09 – Casey & Adam
Rather gloomy and wet, today was the day the DeMatha Stags had been preparing for all week. With the support of Nike, the inspirational words from Jason Campbell, Nike gear, dinner and more, Casey and I were excited to be apart of the experience. Coach McGregor is a great guy and its no wonder, so many of his former players still praise him for his efforts and contribution to the DeMatha tradition. With one thing in mind and this being another bump in the road, the DeMatha Stags were definitely, Prepared for Combat!

So after the battle between Nike and Under Armour I feel pretty comfortable saying, in comparison, next week is going to be a war. Traveling to Cleveland, Ohio we get to spend the week with legendary coach Chuck Kyle and the St. Ignatius Wildcats. But unlike DeMatha’s slaughter fest, the Wildcats will have their hands full against the St. Xavier Bombers. You will not want to miss this one!

Friday 10/16/09 – Casey & Adam
The day before the big game and the Stags are more than ready. After another intense practice, the team was greeted by Nike who had a special surprise dinner for the team. Stuffed from the tasty meal, Nike had more for the guys. Not only were they given another cool Nike DeMatha shirt, but Nike also had a special video recapping the week’s practices, as well as one on one interviews with some of the players. On top of that video, they were given some motivational words from Washington Redskins QB, Jason Campbell, who definitely got everyone pumped up and excited for tomorrows match up against St. Johns.

Thursday 10/15/09 – Casey & Adam
Another wet and rainy day here in Maryland, the Stags were pushed inside for a more intense mentally demanding practice. We got to speak with a few players about their football team and what it means to attend DeMatha. Despite the pressure from the high expectations, it is not only a challenge but more importantly, an honor to be associated with such a rich tradition. After practice Nike had some cool Bag Tags with each players name and number! With one more day before the big game, the Stags looked fired up and prepared for combat!

Wednesday 10/14/09 – Casey & Adam
With no sights of Obama yet, we are still having a great time here in Maryland. In the DeMatha cafeteria, Fred with Team Nike is kicking some knowledge about Nike's hottest new footwear, while students line up at the Nike ID Booth. Meanwhile at football practice, despite it being a chilly and wet day, Coach McGregor is still wearing shorts and the players are still working hard. After practice Brian and Mike of Team Nike had another surprise for the team, DeMatha Nike Prepare for Combat t-shirts! The fellas loved them and it was a perfect way to end a good practice as they prepare for St. Johns this weekend.

Tuesday 10/13/09 – Casey & Adam
Wow! Less than 30 minutes away from the White House, we are here in Hyattsville, Maryland! And what better team to be covering than the DeMatha Stags! It's the start of a new week with a new team and despite the weather not being as hot at as Miami, you can tell football is in the air. Coach Bill McGregor and his team were excited to have both MaxPreps and Nike here at their school. Meeting coach and a few of the players, we felt extremely welcomed. Off the top Nike was at lunch with a Nike ID Booth set up for students to customize their own shoe design. With a chance to win their personal design for free, and have their pair produced and sold to the masses, the students were loving it. Then during practice, MaxPreps was able to get an interview with DeMatha alumni and Washington Redskin Center, Edwin Williams, who attends DeMatha's practice every so often to show his support. After a good practice, each player was given their own Nike DeMatha locker slate with their name and number. So after a great first day, Casey and I are extremely excited to see what else is going to happen this week at DeMatha as they prepare for St. Johns.

Preview – Casey & Adam
This week Casey Littlejohn and Adam Spencer visit one of the best football programs in Maryland, the DeMatha Stags! With an impressive record of 6 consecutive Washington Catholic Athletic Conference titles, it is no wonder they are ranked among the top programs that produce the most professional football players in the country. From 1984-2006, they have been undefeated 6 times. With Head Coach Bill McGregor leading the Stags, they are 6-0 thus far this season. They play Saint John's this weekend, and are looking to continue their undefeated streak!

10.23.09 - Palm Beach Gardens vs. Jupiter (FL)
Read our Journal
Friday 10/23/09 – Nick & Karl
It was quite a day to close out week 7 of the tour!! Nike started things off by taking over the Gators lockerroom with custom locker name plates, bag tags, and Nike Dri-fit t-shirts. But the huge surprise came when the team was hooked-up with brand new orange Nike jerseys for the big game!! For the first time in school history, instead of their traditional blue jerseys, the Gators would be taking the field in style in orange. As soon as the guys saw the jerseys they went crazy!! You know the old saying, if you look good, you play good, and that is exactly what happened!! The Gators came out full speed ahead against Jupiter and came away with their second win of the season, beating Jupiter 21-10. What an incredible week!!

Next week, we head back to California!! Look out St. Bonaventure, you are next!!

Thursday 10/22/09 – Nick & Karl
You can't go to Florida without visiting the beach, and that is exactly what we did today. It was breezy out on Palm Beach, but the water was surprisingly warm!! We then met the Gators at Miller's Gardens Ale House, where team Nike put on a special pre-game dinner banquet. Man this food looked awesome!!! According to the guys, you can never go wrong with hot-wings!! Nike then awarded the team with custom field banners and a 5D2F game ball for coach. Now these guys are for sure ready to play!! Tomorrow is the showdown against Jupiter, we can't wait!!!!

Wednesday 10/21/09 – Nick & Karl
The Nike ID booth was rockin' at lunch today!! We spoke with several students who think they are going to win the shoe design contest. A ton of awesome designs, its is going to be a tough decision for the Nike judges. After practice team Nike came through once again and hooked-up the Gators with custom Nike t-shirts, which they are going to wear to school tomorrow in support of the game. 2 days until Friday!!!

Tuesday 10/20/09 – Nick & Karl
Today we made our way out to the Gators' practice and caught up with some of the seniors who filled us in on this weeks big game against Jupiter. After last weeks win, the guys are pumped and ready to take on their rival school. The Gators say there is no way that Jupiter can win. We are looking forward to an excellent game on Friday!!!

Monday 10/19/09 – Nick & Karl
While the rest of the country seems to be in a deep freeze, including snow back up where I am from in Boston, we arrived in Palm Beach Gardens where its 80 degrees as the Gators are looking to make it two straight this week. We met up the guys from Nike and the Gators over at a local park since the Gators do not have a football field still from the Hurricanes that tore their school and field apart. Coach Davis is thrilled we are here and expects to have a great game oon Friday night versus Jupiter. Don't forget to tell us what you think in our updated comments section at the bottom of the page where you can post video's or comments and link them to your Facebook or Twitter.

Preview – Nick & Karl
Coach Kevin Fleury of the Palm Beach Gardens Gators will look to rebound from a tough 2008 campaign this year but can look forward to this game versus Jupiter as an opportunity to continue a bit of success from last season. The Gators defeated Jupiter last season thanks in large part to RB Jimmy Lera. The 5-foot-8 170-pound running back ran for 199 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Gators scored 27 answered en route to a 27-10 victory.

10.24.09 - St Ignatius vs. St Xavier (OH)
Read our Journal
Saturday 10/24/09 – Casey & Adam
Finally the day we have all been waiting for has come. With two of the best football teams in Ohio, St. Ignatius hosted St. Xavier at John Carroll University. With more than 5,000 spectators, Don Shula Stadium was in for another treat as St. Ignatius attempted to win their 23rd straight game. We had no idea what was in store, but today’s game was certainly one that would come down to the mistakes and turnovers. Without giving too much detail, this game did not carry into overtime but it was just as exciting as last year’s battle. Check out the video to see all the top plays.

Friday 10/23/09 – Casey & Adam
All I gotta say is, time flies when you're having a good time! The day before the game and Cleveland is filling up with Green Bay Packer fans that are in town to support their team against the Browns. Meanwhile, one of the best high school rivalries in the country, St. Ignatius is getting ready for their game against St. Xavier.

While Coach Kyle and the Wildcats prepare for their game in the rain, Nike is in the gymnasium having a blast with the St. Ignatius student body. With music bumping, students were hanging out and having fun. And while some students were playing NCAA on PlayStation 3, others were customizing shoe designs at the Nike ID Booth. I even got to do my thing, playing in a small basketball game of 3 on 3.

The arrival of the football team meant the rally could really get started. First Nike raffled off 5 pair of customized shoes that were created with St. Ignatius in mind called the Iggy Game Day's. The students went crazy when they saw them. Then Coach Chuck Kyle not only got to choose a pair of shoes from a few different designs that the senior football players customized, but he was also presented a Nike 5 Days 2 Friday football that was autographed by the legendary, Jerry Rice. The rally was a good time for everyone. And with some final words from Coach Kyle and the captains of the football team, I feel confident saying they had fun, but have one thing in mind… Tomorrows battle against St. Xavier.

Thursday 10/22/09 – Casey & Adam
It's Day 3 of the 5 Days 2 Friday Road Tour, and the St. Ignatius Wildcats are continuing to show why MaxPreps and Nike have so much interest in their program. Coach Chuck Kyle has done a great job helping to mold these students, not only into football players but intelligent young adults. During practice, some of the players got to sample some new cool Nike white and pink gloves that were created in support of breast cancer awareness month. The Nike Road Tour Bus was still on site and students were still having a blast on it. Only one more practice before the St. Xavier battle, the Wildcats look ready for any bombs that may be dropped their way.

Wednesday 10/21/09 – Casey & Adam
A beautiful fall day here in Cleveland, the St. Ignatius campus was the place to be. With MaxPreps and Nike in the building again, the student body was having a great time. On the Nike Tour Bus between the ID Booth station, Madden and NCAA games on PlayStation 3, it is no wonder they want us to come back next year. And Nike was not done yet, they surprised the team with Nike locker slates which had their names, numbers and of course, St. Ignatius. After a tough practice, we kicked it with a handful of players. Casey checked out the Madden game on the Nike Tour Bus, while I passed and kicked the ball around with a few players. Another good time and one day closer to the big game, I can not wait to see what's to come for the rest of the week.

Tuesday 10/20/09 – Casey & Adam
Getting closer to the end of the Road Tour, we find ourselves in Cleveland, Ohio this week. Covering one of the best match ups in the nation, St. Ignatius will be hosting St. Xavier in attempt to keep their 22 game win streak alive. After last years battle where St. Ignatius just edged out the Bombers down in Cincinnati, we know they're going to be looking for revenge.

The day began at lunch with the Nike 5 Days 2 Friday Road Tour bus set up in the middle of campus. Students crowded the huge flat screen TV set upside the bus for a game of NCAA football, while the bus was packed with students checking out the Nike gear and playing a game of Madden. Although the bus seemed to be one of the main attractions, students also loved the Nike ID Booth, where they got to customize their own shoe in an attempt to win their design for free.

On the field, the team looked great. Fired up to have MaxPreps and Nike at practice, they continued to work hard not letting the attention get to their heads. Seeing coach Chuck Kyle and some of the familiar faces from last years Ignatius team, I feel pretty comfortable saying its going to be another great week.

Preview – Casey & Adam
About a year ago we covered this exciting match up between two of Ohio's top football programs, St. Ignatius and St. Xavier. A great game that many of you may remember, Ignatius won by 3 points. From there, Coach Charles Kyle and the Wildcats would go on to win Ohio's Division 1 State Championship. With a 21 game win streak under their belt, they will certainly be challenged by St. Xavier, who is hungry for revenge from last years defeat. This will certainly be a rematch you won't want to miss!

We have gone coast to coast on this tour so far!! Last week we saw the Atlantic Ocean in Palm Beach, this week we are on the Pacific Ocean in Ventura, California! We have covered some serious ground, and today we were back at it. Over at St. Bonaventure H.S., team Nike was on hand with an all out Nike ID design party during lunch. They had music playing and the Nike ID van was completely surrounded by students waiting for their turn to design the winning shoe in this weeks design contest. What an atmosphere!! The students are pumped about this Friday's game, and according to them, St. Bonnie is going to roll over Ventura! 48 hours until gametime!!!

Tuesday 10/27/09 – Nick & Karl
The temperatures dropped quite a bit today and there were some serious winds blowing across the practice field. Four of the seniors filled us in on this huge cross-town rivalry game against Ventura on Friday. According to them, this one is for all the bragging rights!!! The Seraphs are going to bring it!! 3 more days until Friday!!!

Monday 10/26/09 – Nick & Karl
Wow what an incredible tour this has been so far!!! We have been all over the country, Ohio, Pittsburgh, Dallas, St. Louis, Florida, and now for the last three weeks of the 2009 tour we will be in southern Cali! This week we were extremely excited to make our way to St. Bonaventure High school in Ventura. What a beautiful town!! Right on the Pacific Ocean, with mountains off in the distance, this place could very well be on a post card!! Today at practice the 6-1 St. Bonaventure Seraphs were busy starting their preparations for a huge cross-town rivalry game against Ventura H.S. on friday. We caught up with head coach Todd Therrien and told us the game will for sure be a fun one to watch. Nike is here and we are off to a great week 8!!!

Preview – Nick & Karl
The Nike 5 Days 2 Friday Road Tour heads goes coast-to-coast as Nick Reasons and Karl Wilhelm head back to California to find out what it means to have success. The Seraphs have won back-to-back California State Championships and have not lost a league game since being admitted into the Channel League in 2002. Last year the Seraphs defeated the Ventura Cougars 24-6. Also, it won't be hard to miss the 6-foot-4 260-pound Giovanni Di Poalo, an Offensive Guard who has already verbally committed to USC.

Friday 11/06/09 – Nick & Karl
WOW!! What an incredible game!!! Crespi was 4-4 coming into this huge game against the undefeated Bishop Amat Lancers, and this was a must win game for the Celts to keep their playoff hopes alive!! We knew it was going to be a battle, but the Celts came out swinging, went up first, and stayed on top all the wen until the end, soundly beating the Lancers 38-25. A perfect end to an incredible week!!! If the Celts keep playing like the played today, the sky is the limit!!!

One more week to go in the 2009 tour! On Monday we head to Orange County. Look out Servite, you are next!!!

Thursday 11/05/09 – Nick & Karl
Team Nike threw and awesome pre-game dinner banquet today for the Crespi Celts!! Tri-tip steak, garlic mashed potatoes, green salad, breadsticks, man what a meal!!! The team captains got to design a a custom shoe for Coach Ross, and the players gave themselves awards, like fastest eater, most icey, and the smelliest guy on the team!! Less than 24 hours until game time, and we can't wait! GO CELTS!!!!!!!!

Wednesday 11/04/09 – Nick & Karl
It was a beautiful drive through Encino over to Crespi today. Not a cloud in the sky, warm and sunny. At school we made our way to the gym where team Nike was set up with the Nike ID booth. This week two students are going to get their custom Nike ID shoes for free!!! Now while the designing was going on, we were witness to an amazing game of floor hockey between the students and the teachers. Apparently this was the championship game. The teachers got off to a rough start and ended up with a big-time loss to the students. After the winning goal was scored by the students, the winning scorer was carried off the floor Rudy style!! Simply Awesome!! 48 hours to game time!!!!!

Tuesday 11/03/09 – Nick & Karl
Out at practice today, we caught up with some of the seniors who filled us in on how the season has been going so far, and they told us about the huge game on Friday. Now the Celts are 4-4, but 3 of their losses have been by 4 points or less!! They guys know what they have to do on Friday in order to take out Bishop Amat and keep their playoff hopes alive! Now, Nike has been showing some excellent support for the team and we can tell that the Celts will be ready to rumble on Friday!!

Monday 11/02/09 – Nick & Karl
Wow we can't believe this is the second to last week of the tour!! Simply amazing so far!!! Today we made our way to Encino, California, just north of Los Angeles, to Crespi Carmelite High School. On the practice field, the Celts were hard at work preparing for a huge game against Bishop Amant on Friday. During practice we caught up with head coach Jeremiah Ross, who let us know that his guys are ready, and that Friday night is going to be an all out war!!!!

Preview – Nick & Karl
The Crespi Celts will battle the Bishop Amat Lancers as they look to avenge a nail biting loss 22-21 last season. The Celts will lean on Oregon bound QB Bryan Bennett to lead the way but Bennett will have to perform better than his one touchdown and two interceptions he posted in last years contest. Bennett and the Celts were on track early in this season combining for over 100 points in their first two games of the 2009 campaign. The defense is anchored by another future Duck, Hronnis Grasu, a 6-foot-3 245-pound defensive end who could bust through that Lancer offensive line all Friday night long.

Friday 11/13/09 – Nick and Karl
What an amazing finish to the week and the tour!!! Servite came out tonight looking like they were ready to play, and after an excellent week of preparation, and some great support from MaxPreps and team Nike, the Friars came away with the the huge win over JSerra 48-20, clinching the Trinity League title!!!! We could not have asked for a better outcome!!! The guys played their hearts out, and if they keep going out there and laying it all on the line, just like the did tonight, good chance we will see them in the state championship game. Good luck post-season Friars, and remember, work hard, play fast, play strong, prepare for combat!!!!

We would like the thank all the players, coaches, parents, faculty members, and fans who helped make this years' 5D2F tour such a success!! We had a blast bringing you the best in high school football over the past 10 weeks! It was an experience we will never forget! Some many great players, great people, and great memories!!

Thursday 11/12/09 – Nick and Karl
Tonight was the final pre-game dinner banquet on the tour, and team Nike did it right at Servite!! The food looked incredible, and after talking with some of the guys, I know they had to loosen their belts after this meal. The team captains then designed a custom pair of Nike ID shoes for head coach Troy Thomas, a sly pair of white and black Nike Trainer ones. They are going to look awesome!! The Friar captains also gave out a few awards to thier fellow teammates, which included the "Smelliest Guy Award", the "Stilletto Award" for the shortest player, and the "Tiny Truck Award" for the player who hits like a truck!!

Now each week since the beginning of the this year's tour, team Nike on the West coast has been taping pass off videos from one team to the next as the tour went along, and the Friars got to see the entire progression of videos from the West coast's week one with the Crenshaw Cougars passing the 5D2F torch all the way to the Serivte Friars. Talk about some excellnt football teams!! Tomorrow is the big game, and we know it is going to be an all out war!!! Play Hard, Play Fast, GO SERVITE!!!!!!!

Wednesday 11/11/09 – Nick and Karl
It was a madhouse today during lunch where team Nike was on hand with the Nike ID booth. We saw some awesome shoe designs, and 2 lucky Friars will get the shoes they designed for FREE!! Tuesday 11/10/09 – Nick and Karl
The regular season is coming to an end for Servite, and today we had the chance to talk with some of the seniors about the their last league game against JSerra on Friday. The Friars say that JSerra has been up on every Trinity league team they have played this year buy have been unable to finish. Well with the awesome support from Nike and MaxPreps this week, the guys are confident that they will be ready to play on Friday, and will not let up until the last second ticks off the clock. 3 more days until Friday!!!!

Monday 11/09/09 – Nick & Karl
Well we could not have chosen a better team to spend the final week of the this years' 5D2F tour with. This week we are in Orange County, California and will have the amazing opportunity to hang with the Friars of Servite High School. Now this team knows how to win, and if they win on Friday against JSerra, they will clinch their 5 league title in a row!!! Today out a practice we caught up with head coach Troy Thomas, and he told us that his guys are healthy, feeling well, and are ready to close out league play with a big win going into the playoffs. Just a great atmosphere here at Servite!! We look forward to an excellent final week!!!

Preview – Nick & Karl
The final week of Nike's 5 Days 2 Fridays lands Nick and Karl in Servite, CA. This game should be slightly closer than the 52-0 thrashing the Servite Friars handed the Junipero Serra Lions one year ago. The Friars scored on their first 6 possessions and never looked back, but this year the Lions will look to their star wideouts to keep things a bit closer. Robert Woods and Paul Richardson are both 6-foot-1 180-pound FBS bound wide receivers that could cause the Friars problems on the outside. However, if the Friars 6-foot-4 275-pound DT Kirifi Taula can't be stopped, then we could see a result similar to last years.

11.13.09 - Plant vs. Robinson (FL)
Read our Journal
Friday 11/13/09 – Casey & Adam
The last day of the 2009 Road Tour and we were pretty excited to see Plant and Robinson go at it. With Nike on the Plant campus all week, the players were having a blast getting the extra special treatment. All week they got hooked up but even on game day Nike came through yet again. After getting T-shirts, bumper stickers, posters, banners and much more, they were given a custom Plant Panthers Nike field banner to run through before every game. And not only was this a big day because MaxPreps and Nike were in the building, but it was also senior night. With such a great rivalry between these two schools, the South Tampa Bowl game would certainly be a memorable night to everyone who was apart of it. Check out the high light reel to see what happened. A bitter sweet day for Casey and I, we had a blast covering Plant all week and look forward to seeing how they finish up their season.

Wow, I can't believe tomorrow is already the big game between Plant and Robinson. With so much excitement from the players and Nike, time has gone by way to quickly. Over at Dad's Stadium the Panthers were in Helmets doing a walk through. Looking nice and sharp just as they have all week, we got to meet up with a few defensive players before heading over to the team dinner. Team Nike hooked the players and coaches up with dinner over at Lee Roy Selmon's Restaurant. Being a NFL Hall of Famer, Lee Roy Selmon's was perfect to get the guys pumped up with all the sports memorabilia and some delicious food. The players were definitely enjoying themselves, some even having seconds and thirds. But before leaving, Team Nike surprised them yet again. They hooked them up with a cool Nike customized Plant Panthers banner and gave Head Coach Richard Weiner a Nike 5 Days 2 Friday football. They definitely were appreciative of everything they were given. But man am I sorry for Robinson. Despite eating a pretty big meal, these Panthers are definitely still hungry. I can't wait for tomorrow nights feast!

Day 3 of our final week of the 2009 5 Days 2 Friday Road Tour and things are still heating up here in Tampa, Florida. With no school because of Veterans Day the Plant Panthers varsity football team was still working hard during practice under the lights while preparing for their last regular game of the season against Robinson. But despite the running and hard hitting these guys were still having a good time. Now one could argue its because Team Nike was in the building hooking them up with customized Plant T-shirts and keeping them cool with the Nike Hydration station. Maybe its because Casey and I were there representing the best high school sports website in the country. Or maybe its simply because this is how they get down. And while the players enjoyed themselves on the field, a handful of mothers called the Pep Squad, were having a blast while making Plant posters on the sideline. With only one more practice before getting under the Friday night lights against the Knights, we can't wait to see how the end of this week will play out.

Tuesday 11/10/09 – Casey & Adam
With some light rain showers, today we were inside of Plant High School where we got to spend some time with the Plant student body during lunch. As we made our way to the cafeteria Team Nike surprised the students by setting up a Nike ID Booth. Having the opportunity to win a free pair of Nike's that are personally customized would lead to a tough competition and a bunch of fresh kicks. So excited to see MaxPreps and Nike in the building, we got to talk with some of the student body about Friday nights game against Robinson. Based on the general vibe, and as one student said, we are about to see a "highlight reel". Well its clear they can talk the talk but can they walk the walk? I think so but we gotta wait and see come game time.

Wow, I can't believe it is already the final week of the 2009 Road Tour. After so many exciting weeks of football, its hard to believe the final week could get much better... at least that was what I thought before landing in Tampa earlier today. With Casey coming from Seattle and myself from Boston, we both were looking forward to the Florida weather, but more importantly, the Plant Panthers. Coach Robert Weiner clearly knows the game of football, taking a 1-9 team before his arrival, and molding them into the Florida State Champs in only 3 seasons. His intensity and love for the game has rubbed off on his players too. Even during today's practice the players were fired up. Maybe they were pumped up because Nike was at practice trying to keep the guys cool with the Nike Hydration station. Or maybe they were simply fired up to be on the football field preparing for their final game of the regular season against Robinson. Either way, Nike and MaxPreps are in the building showing the Panthers some support, and we are certainly looking forward towards the rest of the week.

Preview – Casey & Adam
After losing the season opener a year ago, Coach Robert Weiner and the Plant Panthers would go on and win the Class 4A Florida State Championship. Here they are one year later with a 4-1 record, losing their season opener yet again. Last year Plant steamed rolled Robinson, 42-0. With Robinson as the season closure once again, will Plant repeat last season's slaughter? MaxPreps will be there with Plant as they prepare for their final game of the regular season, will you?
