The previously unranked Vikings finished the season
41-1 and stunned heavily-favored Long Beach Poly to win the California Division I state title.
Accomplishments:
Palo Alto pulled out a wild five-game D1 match over then 11th-ranked Long Beach Poly 25-17, 20-25, 25-21, 11-25 and 17-15 to win its first state title.

Bio
For the second straight season, the Monarchs won state and mythical national championships. Mater Dei was No. 1 in the final MaxPreps Xcellent 25 and computer rankings.
Accomplishments
Playing one of the nation's toughest schedules, the Monarchs finished 34-1 including wins over nationally ranked Brea Olinda, Bolingbrook, Canyon Spring and Berkeley.
Bio
Of the Nebraska state championship wasn't enough, Papillion-LaVista South finished the season No. 1 in the Xcellent 25 volleyball rankings.
Accomplishments
Papillion-LaVista South finished the season with a perfect 41-0 record. They went on to win the Nebraska Class A state championship.
Bio
After losing two McDonald All-Americans, the Rams were supposed to rebuild in 2010-11 but instead won their third straight state title, seventh overall and finished No.14 in the Xcellent 25.
Accomplishments
St. Mary's finished 29-2 overall following a 64-48 win over Rialto in the state Division II finals when four Rams scored in double figures led by sophomore Courtney Range with 17 points.
Bio
The St. Thomas Aquinas girls soccer team set the bar even higher in Florida for any team looking to take over as the most accomplished in the state. The Raiders secured their 11th Florida state title this season and did so in dominating fashion, recording 24 shutouts along the way to a 25-1-0 record and the 5A crown.
Accomplishments
Amazingly, the Raiders allowed just two goals all season. The Raiders beat Lithia Newsome 2-0 in the 5A title game to take the title, and it was no small feat, as Newsome was undefeated entering the match. St. Thomas took on some of the nation's best and picked up huge wins over Mckinney Boyd and Fort Worth Nolan Catholic of Texas.
