About the Tour
For the eighth consecutive year, MaxPreps and the Army National Guard join forces to honor the nation's elite high school sports programs. The Football Tour is the largest as we name 50 of the best programs in the entire country. In order to qualify for the Tour, each team must win a state championship and be highly ranked in the MaxPreps national computer rankings. As only a limited number of teams will be honored, being good isn't enough. Each of these teams have proven to be relentless, tenacious and unstoppable on the gridiron. We look forward to visiting the young men, coaching staff, school administration and communities that have achieved greatness this year.

Share The Legacy
In 1636, the first militia formed in the American Colonies. The participants represented a cross section of trades and skills: farmers and physicians, coopers and cobblers, but colonists all, and they stood together as a team to answer the call of duty when needed. This was the first formal gathering of the National Guard.
