About the Tour
For the seventh consecutive year, MaxPreps and the Army National Guard are excited to honor the nation's elite high school sports programs. Beginning with 10 football teams in the inaugural year of the MaxPreps Tour of Champions (2005-06), the tour has grown to recognize 50 football teams, 20 basketball teams, 6 volleyball teams, and beginning this year, 6 girls soccer teams. We invite you to learn about each of these champion teams and to enjoy the award ceremony videos and photos after the Tour has stopped in each community.

Share The Legacy
In 1636, the first militia formed in the American Colonies. The participants represented a cross section of trades and skills: farmers and physicians, coopers and cobblers, but colonists all, and they stood together as a team to answer the call of duty when needed. This was the first formal gathering of the National Guard.
