The Parker Lancers the visiting Crawford Colts baseball team by a tally of 4-0 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Lancers now hold a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they host Olympian for a non-league bout on Wednesday, March 25. Parker will face a Eagles team coming off a 9-1 non-league loss to Kearny (San Diego, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 2-4.
Next, the Colts face the Coronado Islanders (Coronado, CA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, March 23. Crawford will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record. The Islanders enter the bout with a 3-5 record after their 7-1 non-league loss to El Camino (Oceanside, CA).
In their first game of the season, the Crawford Colts Baseball Program lost a close game against a very young and talented Francis Parker Lancers squad by the final score of (4-0).
Timely hitting early on seemed to be the difference in this one as the Lancers scored in both the first (2 Runs) and third inning (1 Run). Unfortunately for Crawford, they never got their bats going as Juan Solorio (1-3, 1B) accumalted the only hit of the day. Despite their hitting woes, both Solorio (5IP, 4H, 3ER K) and Jimmy Lap (1IP, 2K) had solid pitching performances on the mound. Those performances allowed the Colts to stay in the game until the very end.
With the win, Francis Parker improves to an impressive (5-1) record on the season. They face off against Olympia High School in a non-league game on March 25, 2009 (Wednesday). As for Crawford, they look to rebound from this tough loss as they take on the defending San Diego Division IV Champion Coronado Islanders (3-5) on March 23, 2009 (
