The Warriors ran into a bit of trouble on Friday in the Liberty Christian Tournament, facing Dunsmuir High School. Junior lefty Dylan Thomas took the mound for the Mercy squad, and overcame a couple of walks in the first to escape unscathed. In the second, three walks a a couple of hits lead to three runs for DHS. The Warriors struck back in the bottom of the second with a run manufactured by senior Brandon Trapozzano, who walked, stole second, and scored from there when the throw went all the way to the center field fence. This ended up being the lone Warrior run. In the third, freshman Chris Bartlett came on to pitch, walked the first batter, then settled in to retire the next three hitters. An error allowed a run to score, but Bartlett pitched well. In the fourth, the Dunsmuir bats came alive, and the Tigers scored 4 runs on 4 hits, most notably a two run home run by their pitcher, Brandon Allen. (March 20, 2009: Dunsmuir, CA 96067) The Dunsmuir Tigers (Dunsmuir, CA) baseball trounced the visiting Mercy Warriors (Red Bluff, CA), 12-1 in Friday's non-league contest.
