Vernon Mulder did most of the damage, but Caleb Natov provided the knockout punch as Vallejo High School blanked host Vanden 3-0 Thursday in a Solano County Athletic Conference baseball showdown.
The two rivals will meet again today at Vallejo.
The Apaches' Mulder hit a two-run double in the top off the sixth inning to break a scoreless stalemate. Natov followed in the seventh with his third home run of the season. Aaron Brasher, Anthony Piquit, Chris Hendrix and Natov each had two hits. Kashka Dudley added a double for the Apaches (6-2, 13-2).
Natov picked up the win, striking out six batters and walking three.
