The Amador Valley Dons baseball team scored 9 runs and limited the host Livermore Cowboys to 4 in the Dons league victory on Tuesday.
The Dons (6-5) will now prepare for their match against Huntington Beach (Huntington Beach, CA). The Oilers go into the non-league match with a 6-10 record. In their last match, Huntington Beach was overwhelmed by Edison (Huntington Beach, CA), 14-1, in a league match.
The Cowboys (3-12) will now prepare for their match against Monte Vista (Danville, CA). The Mustangs go into the East Bay match with a 9-4 record. In their last match, Monte Vista was overwhelmed by California (San Ramon, CA), 5-2, in a league match.
The Don's ended a five game losing streak with the 9-4 win over the Cowboys. Amador Valley batted around in the 2nd inning and scored 6 runs. Michael Mallory lead off the inning with a walk, Kyle Moreno tripled, Patty Gibbons, singled, Alex Osterholt walked, Joe Moroney was hit by a pitch and then Greg Dillon delivered a bases loaded double. After an intentional walk to Chris Keck loaded the bases again, Aaron Hafford hit a sac fly and Michael Mallory delivered a key two out rbi single. The Don's added three more runs in the 5th inning, keyed by Gibbons rbi single and Moroney's rbi double. On the mound Chris Keck and Alex Osterholt combined for the win.
