In Wednesday's non-league challenge, the Archbishop Mitty Monarchs (San Jose, CA) baseball squad nipped the host Bellarmine Bells (San Jose, CA), by a margin of 3-2.
With the win, Archbishop Mitty betters its record to 24-4 on the season. The Monarchs travel to St. Francis (Mountain View, CA) to encounter the Lancers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 12. The Lancers come into the challenge with a record of 24-5. St. Francis won 13-2 in their recent non-league challenge against St. Ignatius (San Francisco, CA)

Bells score tying run in the bottom of the 7th on three consecutive errors and force the game to go deep into the night. Preston Caldera knocks in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th and the Monarchs head to the WCAL finals against St. Francis. Great pitching by both teams, Mitty starter goes 6 innings while Bellarmine starter went 7 before giving way to the bull pen.
