The Chargers now hold a 5-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Damien for a Sierra outing on Thursday, March 24. Charter Oak will confront a Spartans team coming off a 4-0 league loss to Chino Hills (Chino Hills, CA). The Spartans record now stands at 3-4.
Next, the Wolfpack confront the Ayala Bulldogs (Chino Hills, CA) in a Sierra outing, on Thursday, March 24. Claremont will attempt to advance on its 4-2 season record. The Bulldogs go into the outing with a 4-4 record after their 9-1 league loss to South Hills (West Covina, CA).
The chargers won their second straight Sierra League game, 3-1, over Claremont Tuesday afternoon at Charter Oak. Leading the way was junior pitcher Oscar Montenegro, who pitched a complete game, allowing only four hits. He allowed only eight base runners and one walk. He is now 2-0. Montenegro helped himself with two RBIs, a single and sacrafice fly. Kory Brown and Ryan Picano continued their hot hitting with two hits apiece and a run scored each. Left fielder Nohlan Hernandez also added two singles.
