The Woodhaven Warriors crushed the host Dearborn Pioneers baseball team by a count of 10-3 in Thursday's non-league bout.
The Warriors now possess a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Anderson for a Downriver bout on Tuesday, April 26. Woodhaven will face a Titans team coming off a 15-6 non-league loss to Walled Lake Central (Walled Lake, MI). The Titans record now stands at 6-5.
Next, the Pioneers face the Robichaud Bulldogs (Dearborn Heights, MI) in a Western Wayne bout, on Tuesday, April 26. Dearborn will attempt to move on its 1-4 season record.
Sophomore Layne Gsler was the starting and winning pitcher yesterday as the Warriors defeated Dearborn 10-3 yesterday at Dearborn. Layne allowed only four hits and struck out nine batters in the six innings he worked. Fellow Sophomore Joey Thayer came in and pitched the final inning. Zach Bennett led the attack with three hits and scored two runs. Zack Zsolcsak chipped in going two for two with two walks. Zach Tallman homered in the first inning, his third one of the season. The Warriors have know won five straight improving their record to 6-4.
