California High School Baseball - St. Lawrence wallops Jewish Community
(May 11, 2011: Santa Clara, CA 95051) The crowd at Wednesday's league match between the St. Lawrence Celtics (Santa Clara, CA) and the visiting Jewish Community Wolves (San Francisco, CA), witnessed St. Lawrence's baseball team gain a win over Jewish Community by a score of 11-0.
The Celtics (12-5) will now prepare for their match against Mid-Peninsula (Menlo Park, CA). The Dragons go into the Private School match with a 0-9 record. In their last match, Mid-Peninsula was overwhelmed by St. Lawrence (Santa Clara, CA), 12-1, in a league match.
Michael Arioto fired his second no-hitter of the season, as the Celtics tamed the Wolves in five innings and made school history. Saint Lawrence's 11th straight league win gave it its first league championship since 2001.
The Celtics, now 12-1 in PSAL play, have outscored their three opponents 40-6 this week. The Celtics jumped the Wolves immediately, scoring seven first-inning runs en route to Wednesday's win. Jacob Revallier and Phil Ebertowski each had RBIs in the opening outburst.
Vinny Camarda was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored for the Celtics. Michael Low also collected two hits, and Matt Barela had one hit. Barela and Low each scored twice.
Arioto struck out five Wolves and didn't walk anyone.
