The Simi Valley Pioneers baseball team (Simi Valley, CA), was overwhelmed 7-1 in Friday's league outing with the visiting Agoura Chargers (Agoura, CA)
The Chargers now hold a 18-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. Bonaventure for a non-league outing on Saturday, May 5. Agoura will confront a Seraphs team coming off a 5-1 league win over Malibu (Malibu, CA). The Seraphs record now stands at 14-7.
Next, the Pioneers confront the Moorpark Musketeers (Moorpark, CA) in a Marmonte outing, on Tuesday, May 8. Simi Valley will attempt to advance on its 15-10 season record. The Musketeers go into the outing with a 15-10 record after their 5-2 league win over Thousand Oaks (Thousand Oaks, CA).
Agoura drubs Simi Valley High School, 7-1
Simi Valley High School didn't stand a chance on Friday, as Agoura captured a blowout 7-1 win in seven innings at Simi Valley High School.
Agoura scored three runs in the first on an RBI single by Albee Weiss, a fielder's choice, and an error.
Weiss led Agoura's offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI.
Andy Sondreaal recorded the win for Agoura. He allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered five hits.
After posting one run in the third, Agoura again scored one in the sixth. In the third, Agoura scored on a groundout by Preston Rosemont, plating Tyler Cohen.
Agoura piled on two more runs in the top of the fourth. A clutch passed ball scored Justin Cana to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Bryce Fehmel's single, bringing home Cohen.
