Ohio High School Baseball - Dixie wallops Belmont
(April 12, 2012: Dayton, OH 45420) In Thursday's non-league game, the Dixie Greyhounds (New Lebanon, OH) baseball team bounced the host Belmont Bison (Dayton, OH), by a score of 19-0.
The Greyhounds (5-6) will now prepare for their game against Newton Local (Pleasant Hill, OH). The Indians go into the non-league game with a 0-1 record.
The Bison (1-1) will now prepare for their game against Franklin (Franklin, OH). The Wildcats go into the non-league game with a 4-2 record.
The Greyhounds started at slow but scored 17 runs in the second and third innings to beat the Belmont Bison 19-0. The Greyhounds had 15 hits in the game. Seth Angel was three for three with two RBI's, Josh VonBeren was two for two, Jacob Campbell and Brody Queen were both two for three, Campbell had six RBI's and Queen had one. Luke Bowling was two for two with a double and a three run homer. The home run made history as it was the first ever to be hit at Belmont's brand new baseball field. Bowling had four total RBI's in the game. Dexter Poole pitched three scoreless innings allowing only one hit, walking two, and striking out six for his first win of the season. The Greyhounds are now 5-6 on the season and will take on Newton this Saturday at home for a doubleheader. The first game starts at 11am.
