California High School Baseball - Bosco Tech loses to SerraMay 4, 2012: Gardena, CA 90249
In Friday's league game, the host Serra Cavaliers baseball team scored a nice 27-0 victory over the Bosco Tech Tigers.
The Cavaliers (17-4) will now prepare for their game against St. Bernard (Playa del Rey, CA). The Vikings go into the Camino Real game with a 6-13 record. In their last game, St. Bernard ran past Cantwell-Sacred Heart (Montebello, CA), 13-7, in a league game.
The Tigers (4-14) will now prepare for their game against Cathedral (Los Angeles, CA). The Phantoms go into the Camino Real game with a 19-5 record. In their last game, Cathedral ran past Mary Star of the Sea (San Pedro, CA), 5-0, in a league game.
The Serra Cavaliers closed the door on on Bosco Tech pounding out 21 hits and scoring 27 runs. Dominic Smith who is having a season most dream of pounded out 3 hits with 2 doubles and banged out hit 7th home run with 5 RBI's. Freshman Duncan Mckinnon ,also added to the attack with a 3-4 day with a triple and a game high total of 6 RBI's. Third baseman Tim Ravare also had a good day going 2-3 with a triple and 5 RBI's. Shortstop Reggie Southall was 3-4 and scored 3 times. It was the largest run production of the year for Serra.
The hard throwing and smart working pitcher Dominic Smith, had a perfect game for the 3 innings he worked until the roller to Cody Smith at shortstop was legged out when Cody failed get to the ball quickly and get rid of the ball without hesitation. Dominic went on to shutout the Bosco Tech batters yielding only one hit and striking out 7 batters. Vincent Buttler finished the last two innings working the 4th and 5th innings before the contest was stopped in 5.
