Maryland High School Baseball - Dunbar loses to St. Michaels
(May 23, 2012: Baltimore, MD 21231) The Dunbar Poets baseball team (Baltimore, MD), was overwhelmed 10-3 in Wednesday's non-league outing with the visiting St. Michaels Saints (St. Michaels, MD)
The Saints now hold a 18-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mountain Ridge for a non-league outing on Saturday, May 26. St. Michaels will confront a Miners team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Bohemia Manor (Chesapeake City, MD). The Miners record now stands at 18-6.
Senior RHP Dustin Jones struck out 15 in a complete-game 4-hitter, and drove in two runs with a single, double and triple while at the plate to lead the Saints to a 10-3 win over South Region champ Dunbar (13-7) in the Maryland Class 1A State Semifinals at venerable McCurdy Field in Frederick, MD.
Junior CF Drew Chambers went 2-for-2 with two walks, while senior 3B Brooks Harrison added two doubles.
