In Friday's league challenge, the Eastside Lions (Lancaster, CA) baseball squad the visiting Highland Bulldogs (Palmdale, CA), by a final score of 8-3.

With the win, Eastside upgrades its record to 11-5 on the season. The Lions host Palmdale (Palmdale, CA) to battle the Falcons in a Golden challenge on Wednesday, May 2. The Falcons come into the challenge with a record of 7-12.

With the defeat, Highland falls to 7-14 on the season. The Bulldogs host Antelope Valley (Lancaster, CA) to battle the Antelopes in a Golden challenge on Wednesday, May 2. The Antelopes come into the challenge with a record of 3-13.

Eastside started the game on an offensive high, but defensive low. Fortunately Eastside was able to find their defensive skills by the 4th inning and by the 6th inning they had tacked on enough runs to sweep Highland and remain in the hunt for a league championship.
Gilbert Perez-Renteria was an offensive spark that kept Eastside in the game and Rodolfo Ramirez was the pitching and other offensive spark that led Eastside to its 7 league victory tying the most league victories Eastside has ever had in its short baseball history.
