The Mercyhurst Prep Lakers baseball team won Saturday's home conference game against Iroquois by a score of 11-1.
The Mercyhurst Prep Lakers baseball team scored 11 runs and limited the visiting Iroquois Braves to 1 in the Lakers league victory on Saturday.
The Lakers (10-6) will now prepare for their match against Eisenhower (Russell, PA). The Knights go into the District 10 Region 5 match with a 3-6 record. In their last match, Eisenhower was overwhelmed by Titusville (Titusville, PA), 11-2, in a non-league match.
Aaron Haas pitched 3 innings and allowed only 1 run to pick up the win for the lakers. Haas also was huge at the plate by going 2-3 with a rbi and 3 runs scored. Sam Corritore had a big day as well. Sam went 2-4 with a career high 4 rbi's in the game. Ian Pertz highlighted another solid game by the defense. Pertz caught a deep fly ball in left and threw a strike to Kenny Fugagli to setup the double play at the plate. The Lakers have not committed an error in 30 straight innings.
