Pennsylvania High School Baseball - Coatesville defeats Central Bucks East
(May 25, 2013: Doylestown, PA 18901) Spectators at Saturday's non-league battle between the Coatesville Red Raiders (Coatesville, PA) and the host Central Bucks East Patriots (Doylestown, PA), saw Coatesville's baseball squad knock off Central Bucks East by a count of 5-0.
The Patriots now possess a 16-4 record.
Pat Reilly did all he could to give Central Bucks East Patriots Varsity a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Coatesville, as Central Bucks East Patriots Varsity lost 5-0 in seven innings at CB East on Saturday.
Reilly was hot from the plate for Central Bucks East Patriots Varsity. Reilly went 2-3. He tripled in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.
Brandon Birkhead looked sharp on the mound. Coatesville managed just one hit off of Birkhead, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his 2 1/3 innings of work.
Coatesville didn't relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the first inning when it scored on an error.
Coatesville added three more runs in the top of the third. Emmett Hunt started the inning with a single, plating CJ Young. That was followed up by Aaron Cummings's single, bringing home Jake Kennedy.
