The St. Lawrence Celtics (Santa Clara, CA) baseball trounced the host Alma Heights Christian Eagles (Pacifica, CA), 16-2 in Tuesday's league contest.
Coming up next, the Celtics encounter the Summit Prep Huskies (Redwood City, CA) in a Private School contest, on Wednesday, March 13. St. Lawrence will attempt to better on its 1-3 season record. The Huskies come into the contest with a 1-2 record after their 13-3 non-league loss to Woodside Priory (Portola Valley, CA).
The Eagles now sport a 0-2 record. They play next when they travel to St. Lawrence for a Private School contest on Thursday, March 14. Alma Heights Christian will encounter a Celtics squad coming off a 7-4 league win over Summit Prep (Redwood City, CA). The Celtics record now stands at 2-3.
Addison Mock and Vinny Camarda made plenty of noise with their bats against the Eagles, yet it was their combined defensive gem that highlighted the Celtics' convincing win on Tuesday.
Mock, Saint Lawrence's sophomore center fielder fired an accurate, one-hop to the plate, and Camarda, the Celtics' catcher slapped down a tag on an Eagle at the plate to complete a double play in the sixth inning as Saint Lawrence cruised to a win in its league opener. Mock had two hits, two RBIs, and scored twice for the Celtics, and Camarda was 2-for-2 with four RBIs, and he reached base five times. Freshman shortstop Brendon Kubogamell scored four times and had five steals, and Thomas Brashear drove in two runs for the Celtics (1-0 PSAL).
Sahil Bhargava allowed one run and four hits over four innings of work to earn the win. He struck out five Eagles and walked just one.
