The Hamden Green Dragons the visiting Danbury Hatters baseball team by a count of 10-7 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Green Dragons now possess a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Haven for a non-league bout on Monday, April 9. Hamden will face a Yellowjackets team coming off a 10-6 non-league win over Norwalk (Norwalk, CT). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 2-1.
Next, the Hatters face the New Canaan Rams (New Canaan, CT) in a Fairfield County bout, on Monday, April 9. Danbury will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record. The Rams enter the bout with a 1-2 record after their 4-2 non-league loss to Branford (Branford, CT).
The Hatters came back from a 7-3 deficit in the fifth to tie Hamden at 7-7 on a single by Justin Hope, double by Kenny Martinez, walk to Josh Lopez, infield error, two-run single by Antonio Martire, and an rbi groundout by Andrew Philbin. The Green Dragons answered in the bottom of the inning with a two-run homer by Eddy Pena. They added one more in the sixth to win 10-7. The Hatters travel to Mead Park on Monday to take on New Canaan in the beginning of league play.
