Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Granite (Granite, OK) and the host Altus Bulldogs (Altus, OK), saw Granite's basketball squad trounce Altus by a score of 71-43.
With the victory, Granite improves its record to 13-1 on the season. The travel to Temple (Temple, OK) to clash with the Tigers in a non-league test on Friday, January 9. The Tigers go into the test with a record of 4-3. Temple won 61-55 in their recent non-league test against Lawton Christian (Lawton, OK)
The Bulldogs now own a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Elk City for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 13. Altus will clash with a Elks squad coming off a 56-51 non-league loss to Noble (Noble, OK). The Elks record now stands at 4-3.
Sophomore Nathan Beene had 8 first quarter points and Dane Thrash playing with a broke nose had two early treys to give Granite a early 20-7 lead over Altus JV.
Beene and Thrash combined for 15 points in the second quarter as the Panthers went in to half with a 37-9 lead.
Six Panthers scored in the third quarter with Granite holding to a 58-29 lead.
The Panthers went on to defeat Altus JV 71-43 as all 13 Panthers got to see plent of action. Granite moved their record to 13-1.
