The St. Peter's Prep Marauders basketball team scored 40 points and held the visiting Berks Catholic Saints to 31 in the Marauders non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Marauders now sport a 15-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to North Bergen for a non-league contest on Tuesday, February 7.
The Saints (16-5) will now prepare for their contest against Wyomissing (Wyomissing, PA). The Spartans enter the non-league contest with a 12-9 record. In their last contest, Wyomissing ran past Conrad Weiser (Robesonia, PA), 54-49, in a non-league contest.
Highlights: At Jersey City, N.J., the Saints (16-5) trailed by six at halftime and managed only 11 second-half points during a loss to St. Peter's Prep of Jersey City, N.J., during the Bridge & Tunnel Classic at Saint Anthony's High School.
The loss snapped Berks Catholic's 15-game win streak. The Saints had not lost since Dec. 27 vs. Abington Heights.
It was the third-longest win streak in school history, behind a 21-game streak in 2012-13 and a 16-game streak in 2013-14.
