Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Berks Catholic Saints (Reading, PA) and the host Twin Valley Raiders (Elverson, PA), witnessed Berks Catholic's basketball squad topple Twin Valley by a margin of 46-33.
The Saints (18-5) will now prepare for their test against Exeter Township (Reading, PA). The Eagles go into the non-league test with a 11-11 record. In their last test, Exeter Township notched a victory over Schuylkill Valley (Leesport, PA), 72-55, in a non-league test.
The Raiders now own a 13-10 record.
Highlights: Luis Garcia scored 16 points and Berks Catholic used its strong defense to keep Twin Valley at bay in a 46-33 Berks Conference quarterfinal win tonight at Wilson.
The Berks II champion Saints (18-5) advance to meet Exeter in the semis Wednesday at Santander Arena at 6.
The Saints, ranked No. 1 in Berks in scoring defense, allowed just three field goals in the first half in taking a 24-10 lead over the Raiders (13-10).
Berks Catholic used an 11-0 run in the third quarter to push its lead to 19.
Casey Jack had 10 points and six rebounds and Marcus Wilson had eight points and six rebounds for the Saints.
Trevor Greenly led the Raiders with 16 points, all in the second half.
The Raiders finished second in Berks II and lost to the Saints twice in legue play.
