The Berks Catholic Saints basketball team scored 37 points and held the host Wilson Bulldogs to 29 in the Saints non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Saints now sport a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Fleetwood for a Berks County 2 contest on Thursday, January 19. Berks Catholic will battle a Tigers team coming off a 55-42 non-league win over Oley Valley (Oley, PA). The Tigers record now stands at 5-8.
The Bulldogs (12-11) will now prepare for their contest against Daniel Boone (Birdsboro, PA). The Blazers enter the Berks County 1 contest with a 5-7 record. In their last contest, Daniel Boone was defeated by Conrad Weiser (Robesonia, PA), 56-43, in a non-league contest.
Highlights: Sophomore point guard Luis Garcia scored seven of his team-high 13 points in the final quarter as Berks Catholic
held off Wilson 37-29 in a non-league game tonight at West Lawn.
Tre Dabney scored five points off the bench late in the first quarter to give the Saints (9-4) the lead for good
and they held on to win their eighth straight.
Dominique Diaz-Cruz scored a season-high 13 points for the Bulldogs (8-6), who lost for the third straight time.
Casey Jack had 10 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Saints.
Keba Mitchell had seven blocked shots and a team-high seven rebounds for the Saints.
