Terra Ceia Christian Knights (Pantego, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Washington Pam Pack (Washington, NC), 74-56 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Terra Ceia Christian upgrades its record to 10-1 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Varsity Opponent (, ) to play the in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 3. The come into the bout with a record of 140-561.
Next up, the Pam Pack play the Southwest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC) in a Eastern Plains 2A bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Washington will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record.
Tyler Hendrix put 32 points, 14 rebounds, three steals and two blocks on the scoreboard, Washington fell to Terra Ceia Christian 74-56. The Knights pulled ahead early, claiming a 31-23 lead at the half. With 22 points, Terra Ceia added to their lead in the final quarter with momentum from a 13-4 run. Making 52% (12-for-23) of shots taken, Hendrix had a great shooting game from the field, as well as outside the arc, making 50% (5-for-10) of threes attempted. From the line, Hendrix made 50% (3-for-6) of free throws attempted. Two other players also added ten or more points for Terra Ceia Christian. Shaiquan Moore had 12 points and Messiah Barnes contributed 11 points. Also chipping in for the Knights were Austin Roscoe (7 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks), Darius Blackledge (7 points, 10 rebounds, 1 block), and Quentin Van Essendelft (5 points, 2 rebounds, 3 steals). Terra Ceia Christian finished the game with 44 rebounds (19 offensive/25 defensive), 8 blocks and 12 steals.
