The Wilde Lake Wildecats basketball team (Columbia, MD), was nudged 57-53 in Friday's league battle with the host Atholton Raiders (Columbia, MD)
The Raiders now possess a 7-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fallston for a non-league battle on Monday, January 29. Atholton will battle a Cougars team coming off a 64-37 league loss to Joppatowne (Joppa, MD). The Cougars record now stands at 7-7.
The Wildecats (5-11) will now prepare for their battle against Centennial (Ellicott City, MD). The Eagles come into the Howard County battle with a 6-8 record.
After trailing 5-0 early, the Raiders roared out to a 17-10 first quarter lead and the game was even for the rest of the way as Wilde Lake never caught or passed Atholton. Justin Oates led the Raiders with 11 points and 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Maxwell Murray chipped in with 12 points 5 steals 3 rebounds and 2 assists.
