The Brown County (Mt. Sterling, IL) varsity football team won Friday's home conference game against Unity/Seymour (Mendon, IL) by a score of 42-6.
The Brown County Hornets football squad scored 42 points and restricted the visiting Unity/Seymour Mustangs to 6 in the Hornets league victory on Friday.
The Hornets now possess a 6-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg for a Western Illinois Valley - North battle on Friday, October 8. Brown County will play a Trojans squad coming off a 14-6 league loss to Routt Catholic (Jacksonville, IL). The Trojans record now stands at 5-1.
Coming up next, the Mustangs play the Virginia/Ashland-Chandlerville Central Redbirds (Virginia, IL) in a Western Illinois Valley - North battle, on Saturday, October 9. Unity/Seymour will attempt to advance on its 3-3 season record. The Redbirds enter the battle with a 1-5 record after their 48-16 league win over Illinois School for the Deaf (Jacksonville, IL).
