The crowd at Thursday's league contest between the Capital Cougars (Charleston, WV) and the visiting Greenbrier East Spartans (Lewisburg, WV), observed Capital's football squad defeat Greenbrier East by a count of 42-26.
The Cougars now own a 1-0 record. They play next when they host St. Albans for a Mountain State test on Friday, September 2. Capital will confront a Red Dragons team coming off a 41-14 league loss to Riverside (Belle, WV). The Red Dragons record now stands at 0-1.
With the loss, Greenbrier East moves to 0-1 on the season. The Spartans travel to Wilson (Beckley, WV) to confront the Flying Eagles in a Mountain State test on Friday, September 2. The Flying Eagles go into the test with a record of 1-0. Wilson won 42-16 in their recent league test against Princeton (Princeton, WV)
