The Abilene Eagles football team won Friday's home conference game against rival school Cooper by a score of 31-27.
In Friday's league match, the host Abilene Eagles football squad scored a close 31-27 victory over the Cooper Cougars.
In their next game, the Eagles clash with the Midland Lee Rebels (Midland, TX) in a 5A Region I District 2 match, on Friday, October 12. Abilene will attempt to move on its 6-0 season record. The Rebels enter the match with a 4-1 record after their 63-6 league win over Odessa (Odessa, TX).
The Cougars (4-2) will now prepare for their match against Midland (Midland, TX). The Bulldogs enter the 5A Region I District 2 match with a 3-2 record. In their last match, Midland was nudged by San Angelo Central (San Angelo, TX), 43-42, in a league match.
