The Nixon Mustangs football team (Laredo, TX), was beaten 21-7 in Friday's league challenge with the host Winn Mavericks (Eagle Pass, TX)

The Mavericks (5-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Somerset (Somerset, TX). The Bulldogs come into the 5A Region IV District 29 challenge with a 7-2 record. In their last challenge, Somerset achieved victory over Cigarroa (Laredo, TX), 31-0, in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now sport a 1-8 record. They take the field next when they host Martin for a 5A Region IV District 29 challenge on Saturday, November 8. Nixon will meet a Tigers team coming off a 47-7 league loss to Medina Valley (Castroville, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 1-8.
