The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish (Akron, OH) and the host GlenOak Golden Eagles (Canton, OH), observed St. Vincent-St. Mary's football squad defeat GlenOak by a count of 35-20.
The Fighting Irish now own a 5-1 record. They play next when they host Indianapolis Emmerich Manual for a non-league contest on Saturday, October 10. St. Vincent-St. Mary will encounter a Redskins squad coming off a 37-12 league win over Indianapolis Shortridge (Indianapolis, IN). The Redskins record now stands at 3-4.
Coming up next, the Golden Eagles encounter the McKinley Bulldogs (Canton, OH) in a Federal contest, on Saturday, October 10. GlenOak will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 6-1 record after their 34-27 league win over Jackson (Massillon, OH).
