In Tuesday's league game, the visiting Glendora Tartans baseball team scored a tight 8-1 victory over the Ayala Bulldogs.
The Tartans (3-0) will now prepare for their game against Claremont (Claremont, CA). The Wolfpack go into the game with a 1-4 record. In their last game, Claremont tipped Arroyo (El Monte, CA), 19-6, in a league game.
The Bulldogs (3-2) will now prepare for their game against South Hills (West Covina, CA). The Huskies go into the game with a 2-1 record. In their last game, South Hills tipped Covina (Covina, CA), 4-0, in a non-league game.
Glendora High School Defeats Ayala H.S. thanks To Seventh Inning Boost
Glendora put up five runs in the seventh on its way to an 8-1 victory over Ayala H.S. on Tuesday. The Tartans offense in the inning was led by Jeffrey Isenhart, Tyler McNamara, David Fierro, and Nathan Bonner, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Cole Oberlander earned the win for Glendora as he allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out four. Damian Garcia and Dylan Aggers entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Glendora racked up 14 hits on the day. Nathan Bonner, Jeffrey Isenhart, and Carson Collett each collected multiple hits for Glendora High School. Isenhart and Bonner all had three hits to lead the Tartans. Glendora had clean and solid defense in sloppy field conditions without committing a single error.
