The Tom Bean Tomcats girls basketball team lost Tuesday's home non-conference game against Anna by a score of 46-31.
The Anna Coyotes (Anna, TX) basketball felled the host Tom Bean Cats (Tom Bean, TX), 46-31 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Coyotes (5-6) will now prepare for their test against Ferris (Ferris, TX). The Yellowjackets go into the non-league test with a 1-7 record. In their last test, Ferris went down by Mabank (Mabank, TX), 71-16, in a non-league test.
The Cats now own a 0-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Leonard for a 2A Region II District 11 test on Wednesday, December 17.
"Tom Bean had won 5 out of 6 games and I told the girls that this game would be very similar to the games that we have to win on the road in district, if we want to get into the playoffs."
We only shot 26% for the night from the floor but we did make 17-23 Free throws (73%) and that has been an area of big improvement for us lately, both getting to the Free throw line more and making them when we get there.
Shantel Ramsey had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Rhapsody Rhines had 15 reboundsand played great post defense most of the night against a really active, talented post player.
Ashley Griffin got into early fould trouble, which is happening too much lately but really played great the second half (12 points).
jessie Thomas is really improving and helps us a lot on defense and rebounding with her athleticism. Her shooting is improving every day.
